Hello Everyone,

It has been a while, but I was reminded of something I do that is very effective and inexpensive when I have muscle ache. In the morning when I am blow drying my hair (or anytime you need it), I put my hair dryer on a low heat setting and blow it around the back of my neck and down my back.  The warm heat relaxes my muscles and makes me feel much better. Certainly, I realize this is for minor pain and other conditions may require a doctor's attention. This little technique is so soothing and works for me when I need a little relief from muscle ache or fatique.

Have a nice evening and a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Good Evening Everyone,

Whenever you have a lot of things to accomplish and you also need to be somewhere at a certain hour, consider this time management approach.

Prioritize and do the things FIRST that you need to do to get "out your door" to your job, special appointment or other obligation.

For example, it would serve you best if you would take your shower, get makeup and/or other grooming done first. If you run out of time, you probably don't need to have the laundry started or the floors cleaned before you go! Those would be better to handle when you return home from your commitment. When you are on time, you convey non verbally that your commitment is important.

If you think of your priorities in this way, it will prevent you from becoming frustrated and overwhelmed.

I hope as you try out this approach, you will find more joy in each day and your goals will be more easily met.

Good Day Everyone,

My youngest of eight started the first day of his senior year today. Among our routine in the morning, I mentioned briefly to him and wanted to share a hint with you.

The fact that everything should be ready to "launch" for the morning when you retire for the evening.  Whether it be briefcase, keys, purse, bookbag with signed papers and homework inside, etc. In the morning, after your hygiene routine and breakfast, mainly all you should need to do is "fetch and go." There never seems to be enough time for the little "add-ons" if you don't do them before bed.

Disorganized people don't realize how those 3 mins and 5 mins add up until you are late for work, church or school. "Out of small things, proceedeth that which is great." is one of my favorite quotes!

Have a wonderful and productive day.

Good Day Everyone,

Have you ever been in a hurry and have no more time left to do your hair? You have a problem that you have split ends sticking up.  Simply, put some hand lotion on the palms of your hair and lightly smooth over the top and/or side of your finished hairdo.  They will lay down and behave with the additional benefit of being "conditioned."  Just a simple tip that may help with the annoying tiny problems of life.

Have a wonderful day. It is beautiful in Anchorage this morning. We are close to having 22 1/2 hours of daylight. It doesn't bother me and is one of my motivators! I am going to work on this mental approach when I return to the south where it is dark at 9 pm. Goes to show that one approach to motivation is to concentrate on positive thoughts and have a will to have more energy and get more things done!

Have a fun and accomplished day.

Hello Everyone,

We only have so many hours in each day so I feel it is very important to stay motivated and use our hours wisely each day.  When we stay motivated, we use our time more efficiently and stray away from useless time wasters when we aren't feeling motivated to actually concentrate and do something good and productive or a pleasing activity that lowers our stress, such as reading a good book.

When we are motivated, we accomplish more each day and use our talents to refine our personal progression AND to help others have a better life and know they are cared about as human beings. I feel success comes by "doing what we need to do each day, not necessarily what we want to do!" Following this "motto," I believe duty will lead us to desire and we can find out inner goodness about ourselves and others we may not normally reach out to know.

PLEASE post on our Blog what you do to stay motivated or what activities "plug you in" that you do to stay in a higher energy mode and accomplish meaningful activities in your life.  We want to rejoice in the accomplishments of others. I feel this can be a "snowball effect" as we share with others then we can all benefit and help others whether it may be surmounting some situation they are in that is dragging them down or spurring an idea for someone who wants to reach out and help church, community, and those in need whatever that need maybe, whether it is emotional or temporal.

We hope we will hear from you and can start a trend to hear new ideas and prompt us to use our time more wisely and be better people each day.  These comments can include ideas from making money to ones that are purely personal motivators -- to ideas that will be purely volunteer opportunities. As we rally together and help share ideas, I think it will be very motivating to all.  We can't do it all, but "we can do something," and I believe the more we refine our minutes of each day, the more we will be fulfilled and develop into a better person than we are today.

Thanks for your time and hope to hear from all of you and your unique situations!

Hello Everyone,

I am one that is always looking for the inexpensive equivalents of the expensive products that are trying to play on the consumers' emotions, such as anti-aging products or facial products.

One of the best, very inexpensive facial masks I have found that works well is to use a beaten egg white on your clean, damp face.

Let it stay on long enough to dry completely and then use cool water and a washcloth to stimulate circulation and thus enhances your color.

Hope this helps.  You may save anywhere from $5.00 to $20.00 and still have a fresh, soft, younger-looking complexion.

Hope you are having a wonderful evening.

Hello Everyone,

Since I have been away in Alaska, I have been out walking and come within 10 feet of a huge moose and experienced a 5.2 earthquake! You never know what each day is going to bring!

We road along Alaska 1 with the water on one side and the steep mountains on another to the beautiful tiny town of Whittier, Alaska.  It was beautiful! Reminded me of a Scandanavian village. This is a port where many cruise ships leave from.  Besides Anchorage, the other port is Seward, which we will be going on the middle of July. I look forward to it.

Just a reminder to me that the good ole USA can give us anything we are looking for from beach to mountains.

As we were coming back into Anchorage and the busy traffic, we saw ahead of us a moose and her baby weaving between the cars seeming so lost and very upset. We had to drive on so I don't know if she got to a wooded area, but this seems to be a common sight in Anchorage.

Hope you are having a wonderful, refreshing weekend.

Good Holiday Weekend Everyone,

Have you been making a fresh fruit salad and wanted to make sure the fruit doesn't turn brown? If you don't have lemon juice, for example, just put the apples in salt water solution until you are right ready to mix the salad. They will stay fresher and not turn brown near as quickly.

You can be ahead of the game getting food organized for a meal occasion and still  end up with a beautiful fresh fruit salad.

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend.

Good Day Everyone,

Are you committed to having a date with your husband/wife every week.? Think about having a "date day" instead of "date night."  You can save a lot of money by spending time together doing things during the day.

You pay less for a matinee than evening show/movie. You pay less from the lunch menu, which usually goes until 3 PM, than you do from the dinner menu.

Of course, choosing activities that don't cost anything at all are optimal, but if you are tired of window shopping or walking in the park, you can add these potential activities with less of a bite out of your budget.

Have a happy and productive day.

Hello Everyone,

Especially those who have been through recent disasters, we are reminded how vital our important papers are.  My friend, Karen Walker, sent me an address for Margie Westenhofer's website for organizing those papers. It is mypodessentials.com. It may be very helpful to you. I am told a lot of disaster relief groups have ordered them from her.

Remember, it wasn't raining when Noah built the ark!

Have a great and productive day.
